Silica gel is a hard-grainy substance prepared by a chemical reaction. It is highly porous in structure due to which it has the property of absorbing moisture and retaining it inside, keeping its surface dry and free from moisture. It is Eco friendly and completely biodegradable. Good quality Silica gel in optimum conditions can absorb moisture up to 50% of its weight.
Silica gel sachets or bags, are simply flexible 'containers' of silica gel. The sachet material has to be robust and capable of withstanding normal handling whilst most importantly, being able to breathe. This means that water molecules can pass through the material and be adsorbed by the silica gel.
