For your consideration is this extraordinary 1960s men's sharkskin 3-button gray suit (40 short). The suit is
extremely well-crafted
and is in amazing condition. The jacket features narrow lapels and looks extremely classy.  It is made of durable and very shiny sharkskin wool cloth.  The lining is also in extremely fine condition.
The jacket is an American sack cut with moderate shoulder padding, a short rear vent.  The pants are single-pleated, with narrow belt loops, a metal zipper, and a tapered bottom.
If you are looking for a stand-out suit of exceptional quality, look no further.
Condition:
Excellent near mint condition suit.  No holes, no wear, no stains, no flaws!
The lining has the slightest discoloration on the back near the collar, almost invisible -see last photo.  Otherwise,
looks spectacular!  Very clean and sharp! from a smoke free home.

Union made in USA.  (Union label is 1961-1975 series)
Material: no markings, but looks and feels  like 100% sharkskin wool cloth
Marked: No size markings, but jacket measures to a 40 - 41 short.
Pants are 34.5 W  x 28.25 L  (with a 3" hem)

Jacket:
Chest (arm pit to arm pit): 22.5" double is  45, the normal deduction is 4 -5 making it a 41 - 40
Waist (across top /middle button): 21.75"
Sleeve (from shoulder edge seam to cuff): 24"             with a hem of 2.75"
Shoulder (back seam to seam): 18"
Length (from bottom of back collar to hem): 28"
Pants:
Waist: 17.25"     double is 34.5"           with about 2"  to let out.
Inseam length:  28.25"  with a hem of  3"
Rise: 12.25"
Zipper: 8.5"  metal
Total Length (from waist to cuff): 38.75"

Mint:
Perfect; like brand new
Excellent:
Looks nearly perfect; no visible flaws; almost new condition
Very Good:
Only a few minor flaws which are not visible or have no effect on the look of the garment
Good:
Multiple minor flaws, but may not be very noticeable, the garment is still wearable, but may need minor repair
A few words on sizing:
Since many suits aren't marked, I go by measurements to determine size.  Also be aware that sometimes a suit is marked, but it doesn't match the measurements.
